Training & Experience
I earned my Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University. During my graduate training, I worked with children, adolescents, and families across various settings in Southern California including the La Habra City School District, Western Youth Services, and UCI Medical Center in the Pediatric Neuropsychology Department. I provided treatment and assessments in English and Spanish for children, adolescents, and young adults with various clinical presentations including depression, anxiety, complex trauma histories, and other challenging life circumstances. I completed my American Psychological Association (APA) accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Child and Family Guidance Center where I provided individual and family treatment for children, teens, and families and conducted psychological assessments for children and teens with various clinical presentations. Upon completion of my pre-doctoral internship and graduating from my doctoral program, I returned to Child and Family Guidance Center and worked as a waivered psychologist. I am certified to provide Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Philosophy & Style
My approach to working with children and adolescents is holistic and family-centered. I seek to understand the emotional, relational, developmental, cultural, and environmental factors that contribute to a child’s challenges and strengths. I believe that meaningful and lasting change occurs within the context of relationships. For this reason, I strive to build a collaborative therapeutic relationship rooted in warmth, curiosity, respect, and unconditional positive regard. I also believe that involving parents and caregivers in treatment is often essential to supporting a child’s growth and well-being. Together, we can explore attachment patterns, communication styles, and family relationships to foster healthier interactions, strengthen connections, and support lasting change.
In addition to understanding the family system, I value providing practical tools and skills that clients can apply in their daily lives. I integrate evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs, developmental stage, and goals, while also considering the strengths and needs of the family as a whole.
